Senior Data Analyst

Optomi is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to support initiatives around network evolution, fiber infrastructure, and power/reliability data. The role will sit at the intersection of data analysis, stakeholder management, and emerging AI capabilities.

The organization is continuing to evolve its network infrastructure across the country, with a particular focus on understanding the relationship between fiber networks, power availability, backup power, and network reliability.

A major component of the role will be taking complex/cleaned data, building analytical models, and translating the results into clear reporting and actionable insights for stakeholders and product management.

Key Initiatives

• Fiber optics and network infrastructure initiatives across the country.
• Network evolution and rollout of new network capabilities.
• Analyzing data around power, backup power, and network reliability.
• Developing data models that can be leveraged to support business and product decisions.
• Increasing use of AI within the analytics/reporting process.
• Exploring ways to use tools such as Claude to take cleaned data and generate reports/presentations.
• Connecting data insights to broader business and product initiatives.

Day-to-Day / Responsibilities

The Senior Data Analyst will be expected to:

• Analyze and interpret complex datasets.
• Build and maintain data models.
• Translate data into meaningful business insights.
• Create reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Work closely with product management and business stakeholders.
• Connect different data points and identify the broader story within the data.
• Leverage AI to improve analytics, reporting, and presentation of data.
• Potentially use HTML/web-based outputs to support reporting and AI workflows.
• Present analytical findings confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Help determine the best analytical approach rather than simply relying on a specific reporting tool.

The manager emphasized that approximately six months ago, they may have prioritized experience with tools such as Tableau or Power BI, but the specific visualization platform is no longer the primary concern.The underlying analytical skillset is more important.

Ideal candidates will have experience:

• Building data models.
• Using AI to analyze or present data.
• Feeding cleaned/structured data into tools such as Claude.
• Using AI to generate reports or develop ways of presenting analytical findings.
• Understanding how to leverage AI as part of their normal analytical workflow.
• Connecting AI capabilities to actual business outcomes rather than simply having exposure to AI tools.

Must-Have Skills

1. Strong data analytics and modeling experience
2. Ability to present and communicate data insights effectively.
3. Strong stakeholder and product management experience.
4. Ability to connect disparate data points and translate them into a broader business story.
5. Demonstrated ability to leverage AI in data analysis/reporting.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• AWS experience - preferred, but not a showstopper.
• Python - nice to have; not required if the candidate is otherwise strong analytically.
• Tableau / Power BI or similar visualization tools.
• HTML/web-based reporting experience.
• Experience working with Claude or other generative AI tools.
