Software Engineer - C# / .NETLocation: Osterley, UKWorking Model: Hybrid - 2 days onsite / 3 days remoteContract: Initial 3-month contract with potential for extensionEngagement: Inside IR35 - UmbrellaOpenings: 2 The OpportunityWe are looking for a hands-on Software Engineer with strong C#/.NET experience to join an established engineering team working on large-scale digital platforms and distributed services.You will work across backend services, APIs, microservices, event-driven systems and modern full-stack applications, with a mixture of new development, platform enhancements, technical improvements and production support.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and enhance C#/.NET applications, APIs and microservicesWork with Kafka and event-driven architecturesBuild and support scalable distributed servicesContribute to both greenfield development and existing platformsTroubleshoot production issues and improve system reliabilityContribute to monitoring, observability and

technical improvementsWork collaboratively within an established engineering teamHelp reduce technical debt and continuously improve code quality and engineering practicesEssential Skills & ExperienceStrong commercial experience with C# / .NETStrong experience with APIs and microservicesHands-on experience with Kafka and/or messaging technologiesExperience working with production systems and troubleshootingStrong understanding of software engineering principles and modern development practicesAbility to work effectively within existing codebases and adapt quickly to new environmentsDesirable ExperienceJavaReact.jsOracle, Couchbase or other database technologiesCloud and distributed systemsObservability, monitoring, logging and metricsCI/CD and automated deployment pipelinesExperience within media, entertainment, streaming or OTTPrevious experience working with content platformsWhat We’re Looking ForWe are looking for someone who is hands-on, pragmatic and delivery-focused. You should be comfortable working independently, asking the right questions, communicating progress and risks clearly, and moving between new development, enhancements and production issues.Experience within the media or entertainment sector is beneficial but not essential. Strong technical capability and the ability to quickly become productive within a complex engineering environment are the key priorities.
