Database Administrator

As a Database Administrator at CyberPoint, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity, security, availability and performance of mission-critical databases. You will support database administration and software lifecycle activities while ensuring systems meet operational, security and performace requirements.

You will work across database environments to manage user access, monitor and optimize database performance, support disaster recovery and develop and maintain policies and procedures that protect the integrity and availability of critical data.

What You’ll Do

• Administer, maintain and monitor databases to ensure their security, integrity, availability and performance.
• Perform database administration across Oracle, SQL Server and SYBASE environments.
• Establish and maintain database user accounts and access.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for database security and integrity.
• Perform database performance analysis, tuning and optimization.
• Monitor database health and data availability.
• Perform index maintenance and optimize databases for efficient query and storage processes.
• Support disaster recovery activities and database recovery procedures.
• Perform database and software lifecycle activities to maintain system, performance and availability.
• Evaluate database requirements and recommend appropriate database management system (DBMS) solutions.
• Support data modeling activities through prototype database implementations.
• Organize and format data to support efficient querying and storage.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and availability issues.
• Maintain technical documentation related to database administration, policies, procedures and configurations.
• Collaborate with software developers, systems administrators and other technical teams to support integrated solutions.

What You’ll Need

• US Citizenship
• Active TS/SCI + Full Scope Polygraph
• At least 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) on programs or contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university
• Four (4) additional years of DBA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with database security, user account administration and access management.
• Experience with database performance analysis, tuning and optimization.
• Experience with index maintenance and database monitoring.
• Experience supporting disaster recovery and database recovery activities.
• Knowledge of database lifecycle activities and practices for maintaining system performance and availability.
• Experience developing and implementing database security and integrity policies and procedures.
• Understanding of data modeling and database design concepts.
