Server Platform Design Engineer

The AMD Server Platform Hardware Design team is seeking an engineer for assisting with PCBA-based logic design centered on current and future PC architecture; specifically, hardware for debug, validation and testing of AMD microprocessors and chipsets. You will also be responsible for debug and support of our designs. This role offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with power supply designers, mechanical and thermal engineers, firmware developers, validation engineers, PCB layout specialists, and both internal and external stakeholders., * Develop comprehensive specifications for board level and system level products, based on a clear understanding of the requirements and cross-functional team collaboration

• Design board-level products using Cadence tools
• Debug prototypes to achieve production-worthy products
• Oversee the manufacturing process at outside vendors
• Write and review detailed technical documentation
• Provide technical expertise and leadership for less experienced engineers
• Support product engineering in resolving customer problems which requires system-level expertise
• Provide debug, applications support, and design assistance to customers, field applications, and sales, AMD may use Artificial Intelligence to help screen, assess or select applicants for this position. AMD’s “Responsible AI Policy” is available here.

• Excellent board level debugging skills
• Experience with engineering lab equipment: oscilloscopes, signal generators, DC power supplies, bus logic analyzers, etc.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills for both internal and customer facing interaction
