You’ll be at the frontline, ensuring that every incident is managed with precision and every vulnerability is addressed before it becomes a threat. What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the daily management, optimization, and tuning of security tools (WAF, IDS/IPS, NDR, Proxy, SIEM, etc.), ensuring maximum protection and detection capabilities.
• Analyze, escalate, and resolve security incidents, documenting each step and coordinating with cross-functional teams for swift resolution.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations, responding to critical alerts within 30 minutes and managing incident response end-to-end.
• Conduct in-depth network flow analysis, correlate alerts, and contribute to the continuous improvement of network security architectures and configurations.
• Drive post-mortem analyses, deliver actionable recommendations, and follow up on remediation plans with ITSM teams.
• Monitor threat intelligence feeds (CVEs, IOCs, MITRE ATT&CK), proactively identifying and mitigating emerging risks.
• Support IT projects with security reviews, technical-functional assessments, and active participation in project teams.
• Document technical processes, change logs, and operational procedures, ensuring clarity and compliance with NIS2 requirements.
• Produce cyber dashboards and operational, tactical, and strategic security reports, tracking KPIs and progress on security initiatives.
• Champion best practices in change management, incident prioritization, and continuous process improvement within the SecOps function.

• Proven experience in security incident management as an incident responder and/or incident manager.
• Hands-on expertise with IPS/IDS or NDR solutions, firewall security, and network protection technologies.
• Working knowledge of DNS, proxy, SOC (SIEM/XDR), and WAF security tools.
• Strong analytical mindset, technical curiosity, and a relentless drive to solve complex security challenges.
• Clear, assertive communicator with the ability to coordinate teams and challenge assumptions when necessary.
• Demonstrated rigor in change management, urgency in incident response, and adaptability in dynamic environments.
• Autonomous yet collaborative, thriving in both independent and team-driven settings.
• Experience supporting compliance initiatives (NIS2 or similar regulatory frameworks) is a plus.
• Ability to participate in 24/7 on-call rotations and respond rapidly to high-priority incidents.

Other Requirements

• Freelance position with a 7-month project duration, based in Belgium (partial remote possible).
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) and participate in on-call rotations.
• Experience in environments with complex, hybrid (multi-site and cloud) infrastructures is highly valued.
• Familiarity with NIS2 compliance processes is a plus.
