Backend Engineer

In this role you will build and maintain backend services at scale for Marfeel’s analytics platform. You will own architectural decisions and collaborate with product and data teams to deliver reliable, high-performance APIs and data processing capabilities. You’ll work with large-scale data, real-time and historical datasets, and leverage AI coding tools to accelerate delivery. This is a hands-on position in a small, high-ownership team focused on new product initiatives and growth for publishers worldwide. 5+ years of production backend experience Strong proficiency in Node. xkdbapo js and TypeScript Relational and non-relational databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse or similar Deep understanding of API design, data modeling and web architecture Performance-focused: query efficiency, latency, and scale Experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) as part of development CI/CD and cloud deployments (Docker, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) Ownership mindset and ability to handle complex technical problems Experience with testing practices (unit, integration, end-to-end) Proficiency in Spanish and English ownership and accountability collaboration across product, data and frontend teams problem solving and analytical thinking Node.js TypeScript MySQL
