This individual will be responsible for the development, maintenance, enhancement, and modernization of business-critical deposit and pricing applications that support millions of consumer and commercial banking customers.

The ideal candidate will possess strong IBM Mainframe development expertise, a deep understanding of financial services platforms, and experience working within large-scale enterprise environments. This role will play a key part in ensuring the stability, scalability, and modernization of core deposit systems while partnering with distributed teams supporting strategic platform transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and implement enhancements to core deposit and banking applications.

Support mission-critical mainframe systems responsible for deposit processing, account servicing, pricing, and related banking functions.

Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Develop and maintain COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM-based applications.

Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis for system incidents.

Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to enterprise development standards.

Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, and infrastructure teams.

Support regulatory, audit, security, and compliance initiatives.

Assist with application modernization efforts, including integration with APIs, middleware, cloud-native platforms, and distributed technologies.

Document technical designs, workflows, and application support procedures.

Cobol, Mainframe, Db2, Jcl, Cics, 5+ years of IBM Mainframe development experience.

Strong programming experience with:

COBOL

JCL

CICS

DB2

VSAM

Experience supporting large-scale banking or financial services applications.

Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.

Experience with production support, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Ability to read, analyze, and enhance complex legacy code bases.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting:

Deposit platforms

Consumer banking systems

Pricing or interest rate calculation engines

Core banking applications

Knowledge of MQ Series, IMS, TSO/ISPF, Endevor, Changeman, or equivalent mainframe tools.

Experience integrating mainframe applications with Java, APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.

Exposure to enterprise modernization programs involving cloud, OpenShift, Kubernetes, or hybrid architectures.

Familiarity with mainframe-to-modern platform transformation initiatives.
