Senior Data Engineer (Remote)

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for orchestrating, deploying, maintaining and scaling cloud OR on-premise infrastructure targeting big data and platform data management (Relational and NoSQL, distributed and converged) with emphasis on reliability, automation and performance. This role will focus on developing solutions and helping transform the company’s platforms deliver data-driven, meaningful insights and value to company., * Develops and maintains infrastructure systems (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes) including data access APIs. Prepares and manipulates data using multiple technologies.

• Interprets data, analyzes results using statistical techniques, and provides ongoing reports. Executes quantitative analyses that translate data into actionable insights. Provides analytical and data-driven decision-making support for key projects. Designs, manages, and conducts quality control procedures for data sets using data from multiple systems.
• Develops data models by studying existing data warehouse architecture; evaluating alternative logical data models including planning and execution tables; applying metadata and modeling standards, guidelines, conventions, and procedures; planning data classes and sub-classes, indexes, directories, repositories, messages, sharing, replication, back-up, retention, and recovery.
• Creates data collection frameworks for structured and unstructured data.
• Improves data delivery engineering job knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
• Applies data extraction, transformation and loading techniques in order to connect large data sets from a variety of sources.
• Applies and implements best practices for data auditing, scalability, reliability and application performance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources., The associate is primarily seated while performing the duties of the position. Occasional walking or standing is required. The hands are regularly used to write, type, key and handle or feel small controls and objects. The associate must frequently talk and hear. Weights up to 25 pounds are occasionally lifted.

Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Experience: 5 years Experience with database design and developing modeling tools. Experience developing and updating ETL/ELT scripts. Hands-on experience with application development, relational database layout, development, data modeling.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Expert knowledge of data engineering development using SQL and Python, with hands-on experience building and supporting data solutions using modern cloud data platforms and tools such as Snowflake, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Microsoft Fabric, and Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC/IICS).
• Expert understanding of data architecture, data modeling, database design, and implementation concepts across relational, non-relational, cloud-based, and analytical data environments.
• Expert knowledge of data integration and interoperability concepts, including ETL/ELT frameworks, APIs, event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, and industry-standard data exchange formats.
• Expert knowledge of data movement, orchestration, and automation concepts, including batch and real-time pipelines, workflow scheduling, CI/CD practices, and infrastructure automation.
• Expert understanding of data quality, metadata management, data lineage, observability, security, and governance principles to ensure trusted and compliant data assets.
• Expert technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data, integration, platform, and production support issues.
• Advanced knowledge of Agile software development methodologies, DevOps/DataOps practices, and product-oriented delivery models.
• Advanced ability to develop and maintain technical documentation, data specifications, system designs, source-to-target mappings, and operational support documentation.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts, collaborate across cross-functional teams, and manage multiple competing priorities.
• Advanced ability to mentor engineers, perform code reviews, establish engineering standards, and drive adoption of best practices for data engineering and platform development.

Salary Range: $99,000 - $196,625
