UI_UX Programmer

We are seeking an experienced UI/UX Programmer to design and build intuitive user interfaces for mission-critical software applications with complex data, workflows, and operational decision-support needs. You will work closely with software developers, engineers, technical leads, and customer stakeholders to turn sophisticated requirements into clear, efficient digital experiences.

The ideal candidate combines strong front-end engineering skills with excellent interaction design, data-visualization, and usability judgment, particularly for high-complexity and information-dense applications.

This position will be performed on-site in Reston, VA., * Design and build intuitive user interfaces for mission-focused web and software applications.

• Translate complex user needs, technical requirements, data relationships, and operational workflows into effective UI/UX solutions.
• Develop wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and interactive interface concepts.
• Build and maintain reusable front-end components, visualization patterns, and design-system elements.
• Collaborate with backend developers and software engineers to integrate user interfaces with APIs, services, data platforms, and LLM-enabled capabilities.
• Design efficient workflows and visual hierarchies for high-complexity, information-dense applications.
• Conduct usability reviews and incorporate operational-user and stakeholder feedback into designs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve front-end functionality, performance, visualization, and compatibility issues.
• Participate in Agile planning, design reviews, demonstrations, technical discussions, testing, and validation.
• Maintain UI/UX standards, documentation, reusable patterns, and design guidance.

• Active Secret security clearance.
• S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Design, or a related field. Four additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of UI/UX development, front-end development, or software-engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience with React, Angular, Vue, or another modern front-end framework.
• Experience integrating front-end applications with REST APIs or other backend services.
• Experience translating requirements, user workflows, or wireframes into functional software.
• Familiarity with Git and Agile software-development environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Reston, VA., * Experience designing and building user interfaces with high complexity and information density.
• Experience designing and building for LLM integration using Assistant UI, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or similar technologies.
• Experience with React and TypeScript.
• Experience with UI component libraries, design systems, or reusable component frameworks.
• Experience developing dashboards, analytics platforms, geospatial interfaces, or other data-intensive applications.
• Experience with visualization technologies such as D3.js, Plotly, Chart.js, WebGL, or similar tools.
• Experience with prototyping and design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar platforms.
• Experience with automated front-end testing, Linux environments, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, or DevSecOps practices.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense or other Federal Government software programs.
