Software Development Engineer, Measurement, Ad Tech, and Data Science (MADS) - Tax & Promotions

Design and develop scalable backend services for advertising tax calculation, regulatory compliance, and invoicing across global jurisdictions

• Build and maintain promotion engines that orchestrate advertiser credits and incentive programs at scale
• Develop government e-invoicing integrations that ensure compliance across worldwide marketplaces
• Deliver end-to-end features across the billing stack - from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operations
• Collaborate with experienced engineers to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with long-term architectural goals
• Write high-quality, well-tested code and participate in design and code reviews
• Drive operational excellence through monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement of mission-critical billing services

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. You’ll work on challenging backend problems in a high-impact domain - building scalable, maintainable distributed systems that process billing at global scale. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers to deliver solutions that span tax calculation, e-invoicing integrations, and sophisticated credit and incentive programs, while growing your expertise in algorithms, system design, and distributed systems.
