Network Administrator, Junior

The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, with core working hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position may require on-call, after-hours, or other off-schedule support as needed. During on-site hours, the employee is expected to respond to reported hardware or software issues within 30 minutes of initial notification and, when on-call, begin troubleshooting or corrective action within two hours of notification., Firewall Administration

• Configure and maintain firewalls in accordance with applicable DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• Create, modify, delete, and manage firewall rules and policies.
• Configure and maintain firewall settings and security parameters.
• Install, maintain, relocate, and decommission network security hardware as required.
• Perform software and firmware upgrades and updates.
• Develop and maintain documentation for firewall configurations, procedures, and maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve firewall hardware and software issues.
• Assist with developing technical specifications and recommendations for firewall hardware purchases and upgrades.

AAA Administration

• Create, modify, delete, and manage AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) rules and configurations.
• Configure and maintain user profiles, downloadable access control lists (DACLs), authorization, and authentication settings.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of RADIUS and TACACS+ protocols, capabilities, and configurations.
• Install, maintain, relocate, and decommission AAA-related hardware as required.
• Perform software and firmware upgrades and updates.
• Develop and maintain documentation for AAA services, configurations, and procedures.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve AAA-related hardware and software issues.
• Assist with developing technical specifications and recommendations for hardware purchases and upgrades.

Networking Equipment Administration

• Configure and maintain routers and switches in accordance with applicable DISA STIGs.
• Manage and maintain router and switch configurations.
• Install, maintain, relocate, and decommission network hardware as required.
• Perform software and firmware upgrades and updates.
• Develop and maintain documentation for network equipment configurations and procedures.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network hardware and equipment issues.
• Assist with developing technical specifications and recommendations for network hardware purchases and upgrades.

Network Access Control Administration

• Apply knowledge of Layers 1, 2, and 3 of the TCP/IP networking model to support network operations and troubleshooting.
• Create, modify, delete, and manage VPN configurations.
• Create, modify, delete, and manage VPN access control lists (ACLs).
• Review and interpret technical logs to support troubleshooting, debugging, and diagnostic activities.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network access and connectivity issues.
• Assist with maintaining network access control configurations and security requirements.

• Active Interim Secret Clearance at the time of employment start.
• CCNA certification preferred, but not required.
• Experience with Juniper network devices is preferred.

Education & Work Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Certifications *

• Active Security+ CE or higher certification required.

Physical Requirements

Employees must be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods of time. They should be able to use their hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, as well as reach with their hands and arms. The ability to talk, see, and hear is also required. Employees must be capable of working on a desktop or laptop computer for long durations. Occasionally, they may need to lift and move moderate amounts of weight, typically no more than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
