Full Stack Software Engineer (TMAS 96 TW)

COLSA is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team supporting the 96th Test Wing at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. In this role, you will use C#, JavaScript, and Microsoft SQL Server to develop and enhance the Improved Weather Dissemination System (IWDS), a web-based application that delivers weather data used to support operations and personnel safety across Eglin. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops and enhances the existing JavaScript/Blazor web interface and C#/Microsoft SQL Server back-end components used to edit and display customer data.
• Proactively identifies opportunities to improve user workflows and recommends software solutions without waiting for formal feature requests.
• Develops data acquisition services to retrieve, cache, and manage the archival of information from remote systems.
• Works with customers to improve the collection, notification, and display of data by recommending specific software implementations to meet their needs.
• Develops unattended applications for data extraction, text processing, and data manipulation.
• Continuously improves the performance, reliability, and maintainability of full stack web applications and reports.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of SOLID design principles and the ability to apply them to develop code that can be efficiently maintained and extended by other software engineers.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles.
• Ability to learn and understand existing system components well enough to make architecturally consistent code changes.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
• Ability to solve software problems independently or collaboratively with other engineers.
• Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ or ISC2 CISSP certification within the first year of employment to meet applicable DoD requirements.
• U.S. citizenship required; active DoD Secret clearance required., + Experience with one or more of the following technologies: ASP.NET Core Blazor, HTML5, Leaflet.js, CSS, web applications, Windows Services, and IIS Manager.
• Experience transforming data among JSON, text, and SQL formats.

• 3+ years of experience in the following: o SQL with relational databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server o C# programming o JavaScript programming o User interface design, development, and testing

• Knowledge of Windows operating systems, particularly Windows Server.
• Familiarity with systems engineering and software development life cycles.
• Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) or Git.
• Knowledge of software security principles.
• Current CompTIA Security+ or ISC2 CISSP certification., + The ideal candidate must be familiar with supply chain security (i.e., logistics, cycle counts, government compliance, etc.),
• Be detail-oriented and have the demonstrated capability to proactively identify and implement initiatives to enhance and improve the effectiveness of the overall facility security program.
• This individual must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management from CEO to floor-level staff, to customers.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle with the ability to respond to alarms and other situations after hours.
• Basic computer skills such as MS/Office/Outlook and Access control and camera systems.
• Ability to exercise initiative, be self-directed, manage time and multiple priorities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
