MapKit Native (IOS) Engineer

As a Native Platform Engineer on the Maps Developer Platform team, you will work at the intersection of system frameworks, developer tooling, and cartographic technology. We build the APIs and tools powering the Apple Maps Developer experience. Responsibilities Elicit requirements from our clients and translate them into scalable, reliable code. Design, review and implement 3rd party developer APIs & Tools. Collaborate cross-functionally with Human Interaction Design, Services, and other Engineering and Data teams. Develop, launch, and maintain cross-platform features that integrate Maps with the Apple ecosystem

Proficiency in Swift and/or Objective-C Proficiency with SwiftUI and/or UIKit Familiarity with system architecture and API design Software engineering experience in a production environment Proven track record of architecting, developing, releasing and supporting critically important software components Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to explain complex problems clearly and succinctly Passion to collaborate and iterate on ideas in a cross-functional team Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s in Computer Science Experience writing testable code and familiarity with unit testing frameworks Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or other spatial visualization systems
