Senior Technical Specialist

Team - Microsoft & Shared Applications Working Pattern - Hybrid - 2 days per week in any Vitality Office. Full-time hours per week. We are happy to discuss flexible working!, We’re looking for a Senior Technical Specialist to help shape the future of our End User Services, with Microsoft technologies at the heart of what you’ll do. You’ll bring technical leadership across the design, build and delivery of our services, turning business needs into practical solutions that support our wider technology roadmap.

Sitting between architecture and operational support, you’ll have the opportunity to influence technical direction, champion best practice and make sure our services are reliable, scalable and built with the end-user experience in mind.

Key Actions

• Shape and lead technical roadmaps, helping define how our services evolve and improve over time.
• Work closely with technical teams and third-party partners to design, build and run reliable, high-performing IT services.
• Spot opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability and simplicity, while making sure we’re getting the best value from our technology.
• Stay ahead of established and emerging technologies, building your expertise and bringing new thinking into the team.
• Take ownership of planning and delivering major version upgrades, ensuring smooth and controlled implementation.
• Act as a technical SME and escalation point for day-to-day service delivery, incidents and complex service requests.
• Drive greater automation and orchestration, finding smarter ways to deliver and manage our services.
• Create and maintain clear, useful technical documentation that supports effective service delivery.
• Share your expertise and actively mentor colleagues, helping build technical capability across the wider team.
• Champion emerging best practices, bringing ideas to life and continuously raising the standard of how we work.

• Microsoft 365 SME expertise
• Exchange, Active Directory & Endpoint Management
• Technical leadership & problem solving, * Strong hands-on experience across the Microsoft 365 technology stack, with SME-level expertise in at least two key areas.
• Deep technical knowledge of technologies such as Exchange, Active Directory, Teams/SharePoint or Endpoint Management (SCCM/Intune).
• Experience supporting and managing Microsoft technologies within a medium to large enterprise IT environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to understand how different technologies and IT services work together.
• A collaborative, improvement-focused mindset, with strong communication and documentation skills.
