Business Intelligence Associate

The Business Intelligence Associate leverages data and analytical tools to support senior leadership by extracting valuable insights and making data-driven decisions for an organization. This role specializes in business analytics services such as business intelligence, customer research and analysis, and dashboard creation for business units and integrated services groups.

You will join a team that manages end-to-end product development for external and internal data user interfaces, including analytics engineering and data visualization for business domains, delivering trusted DTCC data that clients and stakeholders can easily discover, understand, and use to reach faster strategic decisions.

You will work across a modern, cloud-based analytics stack, partnering with product owners, data engineers, and business domain experts to turn raw data into governed, well-designed analytical experiences. Our strategic architecture is a business enabler for AI-driven transformation, built on foundational data storage and access, elastic scaling for high-performance workloads, and rapid business intelligence engineering. You will be part of that capability, with real ownership of the experiences our users touch every day.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

• Understand the decision-making process, workflows, and business and information needs of business executives
• Translate business needs into analytics and reporting requirements to support executive decisions and workflows with required information
• Coordinate with knowledge workers to understand their information needs and identify ways to visualize and present information in a user-friendly manner
• Create and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and reports using tools such as Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to enable data-driven decision-making
• Develop and maintain semantic models and reusable metric definitions so that business logic is consistent, governed, and trusted across every dashboard and analytical interface
• Proactively mine data warehouses to identify trends and patterns and generate insights for business units and senior leadership
• Support user experience specialists and information architects to enhance information visualization through the development of dashboards and user interfaces
• Contribute to the development of AI-enabled analytical experiences, including natural language and conversational access to governed data sets
• Develop analytical strategies to solve business problems by understanding the business problems, identifying relevant data, gathering and summarizing data meaningfully, and applying appropriate statistical analysis
• Transform complex data into easy-to-follow reporting through graphing, charts, and dashboards
• Implement and maintain analytics systems to store and manage structured and unstructured data
• Work closely with information managers, architects, and business units for knowledge sharing, mentoring, and training
• Align risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talents Needed For Success:

• 5+ years of experience in an operational audit, risk, controls, or governance roles.
• Proven governance framework capability, including establishing standards, supporting consistent execution, and promoting accountability across business processes.
• Strong audit, risk, and control mindset, including the ability to identify, assess, and drive mitigation of operational, regulatory, compliance, and governance risks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence, build trusted relationships, and clearly communicate complex business, audit, risk, and control concepts to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including leveraging data, trends, and insights to identify risks, drive informed decision-making, and implement practical solutions.
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability, with a proactive approach to anticipating issues, managing competing priorities, and ensuring timely execution of critical deliverables.
• High attention to detail, sound judgment, and integrity, with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and ethical decision-making.
• Collaborative and adaptable leadership style, including thriving in a dynamic environment, leading through change, and fostering cross-functional partnerships.
• Digital and AI mindset, with an interest in leveraging emerging technologies, automation, and data-driven solutions to enhance governance, reporting, and operational effectiveness. At least two years of experience as a data analyst, business intelligence analyst, analytics engineer, or equivalent role
• An AI-native way of working. You reach for AI tooling instinctively rather than as an afterthought, you understand where it adds genuine leverage and where it does not, and you apply appropriate judgement in validating what it produces
• Strong hands-on skill with SQL and cloud data platforms, with Snowflake experience a distinct advantage
• Demonstrated experience in the creation of reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for the effective communication of insights and findings to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
• Practical experience with modern business intelligence and visualization tools such as Sigma, Looker, Power BI, or Tableau
• Understanding of semantic layers, data modelling, and the discipline required to keep metric definitions consistent and governed
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including executives, managers, and product professionals, to provide data-driven insights and recommendations that support strategic decision-making processes
• Genuine interest in applying AI and machine learning to analytics, including anomaly detection and conversational interfaces over governed data
• An eye for user experience and the understanding that a dashboard is a product, not a report
• Substantial experience with relational databases and query tools
• Financial services or capital markets exposure is advantageous but not essential
• Clear communication skills, comfort working in a collaborative and non-hierarchical environment, and the curiosity to ask why the numbers look the way they do
