Digital and Data Manager

Operating with professional independence and autonomy, you will lead digital and data improvements for SPT, ensuring we deliver secure, compliant, and innovative services for members, employers, and stakeholders. You will codify, modernise, and provide strategic challenge to current systems and processes in order to improve operational efficiency, and customer outcomes. You will investigate business problems and opportunities, and specify required changes to processes, information, and technology.

You will provide strategic leadership in the data space, driving best practice to harness data to drive better decision-making, and to enable SPT to deliver its strategic objectives. This will include ownership of operational reporting and analytics, as well as championing a data-driven culture and acting as a trusted advisor on the usage of data. Furthermore, you will support with driving improvements from our suppliers, and make recommendations as to investments in digital and data tools and platforms.

In this role you will have line management responsibility for a Resources Officer who works across Digital and Data as well as Resources and Performance.

• Proven leadership experience in digital or data roles
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills - especially with non-technical leadership - including acting as a strategic advisor to senior leadership
• Strong understanding of data architecture and data governance, including database structures and API logic
• Expertise in analytical tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
• Strong project management skills
• Experience in process improvement and identification of opportunities
• Experience of owning relationships with key suppliers and owning service improvement

The starting salary for this role is 48,698 per annum, working 36 hours per week.

We have an opportunity to join our Surrey Pension Team (SPT) as a Digital and Data Manager and make a significant contribution to the success of the service. This role offers hybrid working opportunities, with attendance at our office in Weybridge expected at least one day per week.
