Director of Data Research

• Define and drive the Data Research strategy alongside senior technology and business stakeholders.
• Lead complex, open-ended research projects from hypothesis through to evidenced recommendations.
• Improve how new datasets are evaluated for quality, value and commercial potential.
• Develop stronger statistical, modelling and technical standards across the function.
• Lead, hire and develop a growing technical Data Research team.
• Evaluate the cost and value of new data sources to support purchasing decisions.
• Explore how AI can improve the speed and quality of data research workflows.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a technically strong data leader to shape a growing Data Research function. You will combine hands-on statistical expertise with research strategy, people leadership and commercial decision-making., * Strong commercial experience across data science, statistics or quantitative research.

• Deep technical expertise in statistical analysis, data modelling and messy real-world datasets.
• Strong Python and SQL capabilities.
• Experience defining hypotheses and leading complex research projects.
• Proven leadership of technical data or research teams.
• Strong commercial judgement and senior stakeholder management skills.
• Financial, alternative data or investment research experience is advantageous.
