Job description

My client , a global Telecommunications company is currently looking for an experienced Active Directory Consultant for an initial 6 month engagement.

As the AD consultant , you will lead discovery, design, implementation and test activities; produce agreed deliverables; manage technical risks and dependencies; maintain delivery reporting; support assurance, transition and knowledge transfer.

The engagement will deliver a secure, supportable and repeatable Active Directory integration capability across my client’s Mobile Core application portfolio. You will support the following outcomes:

  • Centralised authentication and authorisation for in-scope applications.

  • A defined and approved Role Based Access Control model.

  • Reduction of local, shared and unmanaged user accounts.

  • Integration with multi-factor authentication and privileged access controls where required and technically supported.

  • Traceable testing, security assurance and implementation evidence.

  • Documented operational ownership, support processes and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

Essential

  • Expert-level Microsoft Active Directory design and administration.

  • Strong Identity and Access Management and RBAC delivery experience.

  • Practical experience integrating enterprise applications using LDAP/S and Kerberos.

  • Experience with Windows Server, Group Policy, security groups and delegated administration.

  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity concepts where relevant to the agreed solution.

  • Experience with MFA, privileged access management and enterprise security controls.

  • Strong documentation, stakeholder management, testing and operational handover capability.

Desirable

  • Delivery experience in telecoms, network operations or critical national infrastructure.

  • Knowledge of Mobile Core platforms and cloud-native network functions.

  • Experience with Ericsson, Nokia or similar telecoms application estates.

  • Experience with CyberArk, BeyondTrust or comparable privileged access solutions. General

  • Working knowledge of ITIL service management and change governance.
