Data Engineering Associate

Enjoys working with large and complex datasets and wants to play a key role in supporting commercial modelling, pricing and underwriting teams. This role would suit someone with strong experience in data engineering, ETL processes, reporting and analytics, who is keen to develop their technical skills in a rapidly evolving data environment. You’ll be comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders, balancing priorities, and taking ownership of delivering high-quality data solutions.

A bit about the job:

You’ll join a central and highly visible team responsible for delivering innovative and effective data solutions across the business. The role focuses on ETL development, reporting and data analysis using tools such as Alteryx, Tableau and SQL, ensuring data is accurate, timely and fit for purpose. Working closely with pricing, underwriting and commercial teams, you’ll help improve data quality, streamline processes and provide insights that support business decision-making. You’ll also have opportunities to learn new technologies and contribute to the evolution of our data capabilities.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Strong experience using two or more of the following: Alteryx, Tableau and SQL is a must.

• Good understanding of data quality principles, ETL processes and database structures.

• Experience delivering reporting, data analysis and data transformation solutions in a commercial or analytical environment.

• Knowledge of Python, Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric would be an advantage.

• Experience within General Insurance or Commercial Insurance would be beneficial.

• Starting salary up to c. £45,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)

• Bonus opportunity - 8% of annual salary, (actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.)
