Systems Engineer, Information Technology

As an IT Systems Engineer at LAC, you will be the technical lead of the systems that power our employee experience and secure our corporate environment. You will design, implement, and manage the core infrastructure that our team relies on every day, including our endpoint management platforms, SaaS applications, and identity provider.

This is a technical role for a proactive engineer who is passionate about automation, security, and building scalable, resilient systems. You will be responsible for the IT asset lifecycle, ensuring our hardware and software are managed efficiently, our access controls are robust, and our technology stack is optimized for a modern, fast-growing company.

This roles reports to a Senior Manager and is a hybrid opportunity (3 days on-site).

What You’ll Do

• Network & Physical Infrastructure: Maintain and optimize our Cisco Meraki stack (MX, MS, CW) across 4 regional offices. Manage MDF/IDF server rooms, rack/stack hardware, handle UPS maintenance.
• Vendor and Contractor Coordination: Reviewing and directing technical low-voltage cabling, structural modifications, or complex equipment integrations engineered by specialized external vendor
• M365 & Identity Architecture: Architect and administer Exchange Online, mail flow, routing, and DNS records (SPF/DKIM/DMARC). Manage Entra ID identity lifecycles, Conditional Access policies, and Mimecast secure email gateways.
• Modern Endpoint Management: Engineer and maintain the full deployment lifecycle of ~650 Windows and macOS endpoints using Intune and Autopilot. Establish device imaging standards, update rings, and compliance baselines.
• Azure Cloud Administration: Support and administer our growing Azure footprint, including SQL services, App Services, and Blob Storage.
• PowerShell Scripting: Help eliminate manual operations and repetitive tasks.
• Data Protection & Recovery: Implement, monitor, and test enterprise backup systems (e.g., Veeam for M365/Azure) to guarantee data integrity and rapid recovery capabilities.
• SaaS & Platform Integration: Act as the technical systems administrator for core enterprise platforms, SSO/SAML configurations, and automated user provisioning.
• Engineering Support: Troubleshoot complex identity, network, security, and desktop infrastructure defects.
• Responsible for troubleshooting systems, applications, data integrity, and database performance on all systems.
• Performs installations, upgrades and configurations and on-going maintenance of applications on all systems.
• Understand and follow work rules and procedures.

What You Bring

• You proactively hunt for infrastructure performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, or tech debt, driving fixes from initial concept to deployment.
• You map out the technical “how” of system rollouts and are responsible for system availability and security.
• You will constantly interface with end users regarding application and workstation requests or problems.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field required
• 5+ years of systems administration and infrastructure engineering
• Strong understanding of ITAM principles and hardware lifecycle management
• Hands on experience with Fresh Service/ JIRA/ Service Now
• Deep, hands-on expertise with modern MDM platforms, specifically Microsoft Intune and JAMF Pro.
• Experience with patch management, monitoring tools, backup solutions, and system troubleshooting
• Identity Services: Expert-level Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory skills
• Office 365 Email Infrastructure and secure email gateways (Mimecast or Proofpoint).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Physical server room/IDF management (racking, patching, UPS).
• Network Engineering: Experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Cisco Meraki firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
• Automation: Proficiency writing functional PowerShell scripts for M365/Azure administration
• Hands on with SharePoint Online and Teams architecture
• AI-Assisted Operations: Experience leveraging modern AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) via prompt engineering.
• You will demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator or equivalent are preferred.

Benefits & Compensation

The expected base salary for this role is $130,000 - $150,000 depending on your level of experience and overall background. This represents the current target and is subject to change. To determine starting pay, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity.
