Digital Software Engineering Lead Analyst

DUTIES: Responsible for executing work on large scale efforts or multiple smaller efforts while contributing as a technical lead on medium and large projects. Exhibiting a strong understanding of client core business functions. Support situations in which end user consultation is required to identify system function specifications and incorporate them into overall system design and delivery. Apply technical judgment during design activities that impact business goals for the client organization. Collaborate with TPMs and engineering managers to identify potential risks to a schedule. Assist in planning and executing application development assignments involving large budgets, cross functional projects, or multiple projects. Contribute to architecturally significant efforts during the pre planning phase and ensure principles and best practices are followed prior to initiation of work. Publish design review extensions and provide documented guidance aligned to sprint plans and timelines. Participate in design review board activities focused on the design process, identifying reusable patterns, and sharing best practices across the organization. Publish design patterns across lines of business and domain commonalities. Perform design reviews for Next Gen Architecture (NGA) and Plan of Record (POR) projects, supporting design principles and best practices. Participate in microservices and NGA code reviews. Apply understanding of the business domain, systems, and products, including accountabilities, boundaries, limitations, scale factors, and architectural decision rationale. Provide long term technical perspective for business and technology choices by applying technical judgment to evaluate architecture as required. Contribute to developing systems that are efficient in hardware usage, runtime, performance, load, and memory requirements. Participate in broader design decisions that influence development processes and standards over time. Perform design reviews of Agile and POR projects and code reviews of NGA projects, and elaborate, promote, and communicate design patterns applicable to NGA architectures and solutions. Provide architectural guidance based on best practices and in alignment with CTO guidelines and platform standards. Work with independence when business or technical strategy is not defined by interpreting requirements and aligning them with architectural principles. Conduct design and code reviews for projects assigned to the line of business; product definition and overall technical planning remain out of scope. Collaborate with internal partners to support timely technical decisions, participate in trade off discussions, help identify blockers, and ensure progress in challenging situations. Develop technical plans with clear paths to delivery. Support the resolution of dependencies between Agile and waterfall delivery efforts and apply engineering best practices to the SDLC. Prepare and communicate metrics on design reviews, code reviews, CI/CD, and design pattern adoption. Communicate technical progress, anticipate bottlenecks, and identify, assess, track, and help mitigate issues and risks. Recognize differing technical views and contribute to constructive dialogue to resolve them. Demonstrate continuous improvement and adoption of new technology by influencing technical approaches within Scrum teams. Appropriately assess technical risk by ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and policies, applying sound judgment, and escalating and reporting control issues with transparency. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or in a related IT occupation analyzing application requirements. Six (6) years of experience must include: Building scalable web applications using Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, jQuery, and Node.js; Designing and implementing user interfaces (UI) for web applications using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript; Executing projects efficiently through established Software Development Methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile; Maintaining and optimizing applications deployed on cloud platform for high availability and scalability; Building web applications that integrate diverse data transfer protocols including, XML and JSON; Architecting and implementing robust, scalable server-side components using JAVA/J2EE, Spring MVC, Struts, REST APIs, and CI/CD; and Utilizing and integrating technologies including MQ, WebSphere, Oracle 12c, Hibernate, WGCA - ADA, Jersey REST API, and Tomcat. 40 hrs./wk.
