User Experience Designer

As a User Experience Designer at CyberPoint, you will lead the planning, design and development of user experiences for mission-critical devices, tools and systems supporting the Intelligence Community. You will work across engineering and product teams to understand user needs, translate requirements into intuitive experiences and create visual designs and interaction concepts that help customers effectively accomplish their mission objectives.

You will operate in an Agile development environment, collaborating closely with Product Owners, developers, subject matter experts, customers and other designers. From conducting user research and gathering requirements to developing prototypes, interaction flows, and final visual designs, you will help shape the user experience throughout the product lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

• Lead user experience planning, design and development activities for mission-critical tools, systems and applications.
• Conduct User Experience research and optimization to understand user needs and improve product usability.
• Gather and analyze user requirements through customer interviews, stakeholder discussions and other research methods.
• Establish interactive conventions, interface guidelines and design standards that promote consistent user experiences.
• Create visual designs, screen mock-ups, storyboards, prototypes, and interaction flows to communicate design concepts.
• Rapidly prototype and iterate on multiple design solutions in collaboration with Product Owners and engineering teams.
• Apply user-centered design principles to develop solutions that address user needs and align with product strategy.
• Participate in trade-off discussions with developers, subject matter experts, Product Owners and other stakeholders.
• Analyze available toolsets and technologies and recommend approaches for improving the user experience.
• Present design concepts, prototypes and recommendations to customers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to review final implementations and ensure design standards are followed.
• Work across multiple engineering teams to conduct User Experience research, optimize existing experiences and develop new design solution.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across diverse customer environments and provide recommendations and design guidance to other designers.
• Help customers envision new approaches to interactive techniques, technologies and user experiences.
• Clearly communicate customer requirements and design recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Help identify, clarify and resolve design questions and problems throughout the product lifecycle.
• Operate within an Agile development environment and provide timely User Experience feedback throughout development.

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with current polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university and 8 years of relevant User Experience Design experience.
• A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline may be substituted for 2 years of experience, reducing the experience requirement to 6 years.
• In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, and additional 4 years of relevant experience may be substituted for a total of 12 years.
• Experience operating in an Agile development environment and providing User Experience feedback throughout the development lifecycle.
• Experience conducting User Experience research and optimizations.
• Experience creating visual designs, storyboards, interaction flows, prototypes and interface guidelines.
• Experience applying user-centered design principles to develop solutions that address user needs and product requirements.
• Experience collaborating with Product Owners, developers, subject matter experts and customer throughout the design process.
• Experience gathering and articulating customer requirements and translating them into effective design solutions.
• Experience presenting designs, prototypes and recommendations to customers and stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with front-end developers to ensure designs are implemented according to established standards.

What Will Set You Apart

• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Experience with AWS Cloud architecture, design or development.
• Experience with Agile development practices, source code management, and associated tools.
• Knowledge of Linux fundamentals and experience with a scripting language such as Python, Ruby or Perl.
• Knowledge of security and compliance best practices.
