Senior Systems Engineer

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for assisting the Enterprise Windows Administration team with projects,

system maintenance, and implementations, as well as performing general administrative tasks at headquarters and

supporting services across 10 distribution centers nationwide. The successful applicant is an eager, self-motivated

team player who consistently sets an example for the team when approaching projects, server maintenance,

directory security, engineering IT solutions, as well as the configuration and installation of the company’s

infrastructure systems at corporate headquarters and 10 distribution centers nationwide.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Lead the day-to-day operational support for server, storage, or enterprise platforms.

• Build, patch, test, and deploy complex systems and platforms meeting clients’ needs and specifications.

• Design, implement, and maintain the following environments: Active Directory, MSFT Exchange, SharePoint,

Enterprise File Services and Storage, Server Infrastructure, MSFT Teams, MSFT Azure and other cloud

services, Enterprise FTP integration, and several additional crucial business services.

• Serve as an escalation contact for Enterprise Windows Administration Service Desk requests.

• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware and server operating systems to ensure

system stability and data integrity.

• Perform complex storage and server data backup, data migration and disaster recovery operations.

• Research and recommend appropriate system solutions to meet user and business requirements.

• Installation and oversight of infrastructure in all Data Centers.

• Advanced administration of SanMar’s network monitoring solutions.

• Recommend time commitments to complete assigned projects through collaboration with Infrastructure

Managers and Project Managers.

• Participate in On-Call rotation.

• Execute regularly scheduled maintenance.

• Ensure proper disaster recovery procedures and processes are in place.

• Work with Business Applications, vendors, consultants, contractors, and IT personnel from other

departments or outside 3rd parties.

• Provide training and guidance to junior team members as needed.

• Coordinate and ensure the standard implementation of policies, procedures, and systems operations with

support personnel.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Comply with all policies and standards.

8+ years of Enterprise Domain Administration experience or combination of education and experience

• Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Domain Replication, DNS, DHCP.

• Demonstrated experience in the implementation and support of Microsoft Platforms.

• Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) experience

• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) preferred

• Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills as well as the

ability to explain complex technical issues to a non-technical audience.

• Possess exceptional attention to detail, with a concern for ensuring accuracy, clarity, and quality of work.

• Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.

• A proactive approach to daily work, identifying ways to make improvements to the environment, and

communicating effectively with peers as well as management.

• Knowledgeable in MSFT Windows Server and Domain environments.

• Well-versed in monitoring infrastructure and network environments using a variety of tools.

• Comprehensive understanding of Exchange, Email security appliances, Active Directory, Group Policy,

Domain Replication, DNS, and DHCP.

• Ability to work in a team environment and actively participate in projects.

• Highly developed investigative and analysis skills.

• Wide latitude for independent judgment and decision-making.

• Perform well under pressure.

• Occasionally will be required to work nights, weekends, or holidays to make network system-level changes
