Application Engineer (BAS)

accurate project documentation, and ensure systems operate efficiently to meet building codes and client, In addition to technical expertise, the Senior-level employee is expected to mentor and develop less

experienced team members, provide guidance on challenging projects, and contribute to the establishment of

engineering standards and best practices. They proactively identify opportunities for system improvements,

lead problem-solving efforts for critical issues, and play a key role in ensuring successful project execution,

customer satisfaction, and long-term operational excellence.

• Provide Controls database, graphics, programming, etc. for sequences as provided by the DesignSpecialist, project specifications, or other applicable sources. (Distech,Honeywell,Alerton, Tridium,experience preferred)
• Provide accurate controls of systems start-up and commissioning including point-to-point checkouton projects as assigned.
• Intermediate experience with commissioning, configuration, and troubleshooting BACnet MSTPand/or BACnet IP.
• Support and coordinate with installation personnel, contractors, and project managers, etc. onproject sites.
• Debug and troubleshoot installation issues during both the static and dynamic start up andcommissioning of building controls.
• Provide support to Bosch Building Technologies and other contractorsas well asengineers and commissioning agentsto solve building operating issues that go beyond the controlsor special systems operation.
• Provide input to others as requested or required to assist in the accurate estimation, design,installation, start up, commissioning, and training for building systems.
• Provide start up documentation including daily logs, check out logs, commissioning documents, etc.as required for assigned projects.
• Provide hands-on service support on existing installations ensuring systems continue to meetexisting building occupancy codes.
• Provide hands-on service support on existing systems ensuring their proper and efficient operationas well as providing ongoing support to the facility’s building engineers.
• Complete time sheets, service work orders, and other paperwork required for this position in anaccurate and timely manner.
• Assist in preparing of as-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manuals
• Assist in turnover of projects from Operations Team to Service Team.
• Assist Sales team during estimating phase including potential product or system demonstrations.
• As necessary, travel will be required to the job site to complete startup, commissioning and assistance to the onsite personnel to complete the project. This will be on a case-by-case basis, depending on the size, scope, and requirements of the project(s).
• Deliver on-site customer training and technical support to building engineers, project managers, and staff.
• Assist in management and training of junior technicians along with their assigned daily duties.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate scheduling with closeout and commissioning activities on construction projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

For professionals working within the controls and automation field, this level requires advanced knowledge

of control system programming, building automation systems (BAS), and the integration of multiple platform

technologies. The individual possesses a comprehensive understanding of system architecture,

communication protocols, and interoperability requirements, allowing them to design, troubleshoot,

optimize, and enhance complex integrated solutions. They are proficient in developing and implementing

sophisticated HVAC control strategies that maximize system performance, energy efficiency, occupant

comfort, reliability, and operational sustainability., * Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

• 5+ years of experience working with Tridium and/orHoneywell/Distech building controls (fieldcommissioning, servicing, troubleshooting).
• 5+ years of experience with programming and building automation controls database management.
• 5+ years of experience with troubleshooting basic electric and electronic circuitry, including readingand interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams.
• 5+ years of experience with proven field experience in building automation controls programming,network integration, and system commissioning.
• Understanding of AC power circuitry including breakers and multi-phase power (120VAC andgreater).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control wiring diagrams., * Engineering Degree (strongly preferred)
• 2-Year of Associate’s degree in HVAC or electrical field studies.
• A Niagara N4 Certification
• 5+ years of BACnet MSTP experience with commissioning, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• 5+ years of experience programming, servicing, and troubleshooting Distech, Alerton, or Tridiumcontrols systems within building automation operations.
• 6+ years of experience with proven field experience and the ability to debug installation issuesduring both static and dynamic start-up phases.
• 6+ years of experience in Construction, Building Automation Controls/Engineering, or related fieldswithin Building Automation.

• $90,000 - 125,000 DOE - Sr role for more qualified Candidates

Pay Range

$31.25 - $60.00
