Senior Platform Engineer NL/EN

We are looking for a Senior Platform Developer to join an IT transformation project within an organization operating in the energy sector in Brussels.

This is a senior-level position for someone who can provide technical advice based on hands-on experience. This is not a pure development role, you will be expected to analyse, challenge technical choices and contribute to platform and architectural decisions.

Additional engineers may be involved in areas more focused on integration and DevOps.

What you will be working on :

The organization currently operates in a Microsoft / Azure environment, with .NET Core applications hosted on Azure Virtual Machines and several legacy systems that may need to be replaced or modernized.

The project aims to progressively move towards:

• Azure as the core cloud platform
• Containerization using AKS and Azure Container Apps (ACA)
• Cloud Native technologies, including Istio / Service Mesh and ArgoCD / GitOps
• SDLC optimization and modernization

Your responsibilities :

• Conduct technical analyses and develop Proofs of Concept (PoCs)
• Contribute to building a scalable and manageable Cloud Native platform
• Support application containerization and migration towards AKS / ACA
• Contribute to the selection and implementation of SDLC tooling
• Work closely with development and infrastructure teams
• Contribute to technical decisions and challenge existing approaches when appropriate
• Help build a modern, sustainable and future-proof platform

• Strong experience with Azure and .NET Core
• Hands-on experience with containerization, such as AKS, ACA and/or Docker
• Good knowledge of the Cloud Native ecosystem, including Kubernetes, Service Mesh, GitOps and CI/CD
• Experience with application modernization and/or replatforming is a plus
• Experience setting up SDLC pipelines is a plus
• Proactive and constructive mindset, with the ability to both build solutions and challenge technical decisions
• Strong team-player mentality, with a focus on quality over quantity
• Good command of Dutch and English
