DATA PROTECTION ASSISTANT

We’re looking for a proactive and organised Data Protection Assistant to support the Group’s data protection and privacy activities across our fast-paced, multi-brand business.

Working closely with the Data Protection Manager and wider team, you’ll help ensure personal data is handled responsibly and in line with regulatory requirements. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in data protection, compliance, governance or risk.

You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of business areas, supporting day-to-day privacy operations, documentation, training and stakeholder requests., * Support the administration and maintenance of the Group’s data protection framework

• Assist with responding to data subject rights requests, including access, deletion and correction requests
• Help maintain data protection records and documentation, including processing activity records and risk assessments
• Support the investigation and documentation of data protection incidents and breaches
• Assist with supplier due diligence and data protection reviews
• Help monitor team inboxes and respond to routine privacy-related queries
• Support privacy reviews for new projects, systems and business initiatives
• Assist with preparing guidance, communications and awareness materials for employees
• Help organise and maintain policies, procedures and governance documents
• Monitor regulatory updates and support the Data Protection team with ongoing improvement initiatives
• Provide general administrative and operational support to the Data Protection team

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in an administrative, compliance, governance or support role
• Understanding of UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
• Eagerness to learn and develop knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach

Desirable

• Exposure to data protection, compliance, governance, risk or legal administration activities
• Experience working within a regulated environment such as financial services, insurance, healthcare or retail
• Relevant qualifications or studies in law, business, compliance or information governance
• Interest in privacy, technology, information security or data governance
