Application Support Analyst

The Senior Application Support Analyst plays a key role within the Information Management team, supporting the delivery of high-quality business intelligence, analytics and data integration services across NHS Lanarkshire. The post holder is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining data solutions that transform complex healthcare data into meaningful information to support operational management, performance monitoring, service improvement, clinical decision-making and statutory reporting.

Working closely with Information Analysts, Data Engineers, Digital Services colleagues, clinicians, managers, and national stakeholders, the Senior Application Support Analyst will develop and maintain data warehouses, data marts, ETL processes, reporting solutions, dashboards and analytical datasets. The role ensures that information assets are accurate, timely, secure and aligned with national and local information standards.

The Senior Application Support Analyst will act as a technical specialist within the Information Management function, providing expertise in database development, data modelling, system integration, reporting technologies and business intelligence best practice. The post holder will contribute to the continuous development of the organisation’s data platform and support the adoption of modern data and analytics technologies to meet changing service requirements., * Design, develop, test, and maintain ETL processes, data pipelines, databases, data warehouses and data marts using approved development standards and methodologies.

• Develop and maintain reporting solutions, dashboards, performance monitoring tools and analytical datasets that support organisational decision-making.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications, data models, database structures and reporting solutions that meet customer needs.
• Work collaboratively with clinical, operational, corporate, and technical stakeholders to understand information requirements and deliver appropriate BI solutions.
• Ensure all development activities adhere to agreed governance, quality assurance, information security and change management procedures.

• The post holder will be educated to degree level or equivalent experience, preferably in a computer related discipline. They should have significant experience in a senior technical support management role in an information technology department.
• The post holder will have experience and evidence (training courses etc.) in an enterprise RDMS from vendors such as Microsoft or Oracle.
• The post holder will be skilled in up to date server operating software particularly from vendors such as Microsoft
• The post holder will be skilled in the use of standard desktop software i.e. Microsoft Office suite.
• A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
