Job description

Deploy, configure, and support enterprise applications across Windows and Linux platforms
Manage the full application lifecycle from installation and configuration to patching, upgrades, and decommissioning
Support integration with enterprise services including Active Directory, LDAP, databases, and web services
Maintain and optimise application environments across development, test, and production phases
Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and system issues, ensuring minimal downtime
Implement secure-by-design principles aligned with security and hardening best practices
Create and maintain technical documentation such as design diagrams, build guides, and runbooks
Support system integration and testing to ensure successful deployment and operational stability
Collaborate with Service Management teams to investigate incidents and support continuous improvement
Contribute to automation efforts and process standardisation to enhance deployment efficiency

Requirements

Proven experience installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise-level applications
Experience managing environments on Windows and Linux servers
Experience integrating applications with enterprise services, including Active Directory
Strong troubleshooting skills
Ability to produce technical artefacts
Understanding of service management principles (ITIL)
Desirable: experience with middleware or application servers such as IIS, Apache, or Tomcat
Desirable: scripting or automation experience such as PowerShell or Bash
Desirable: knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and containerisation such as Docker and Kubernetes
Desirable: experience within Defence or secure government sectors
Desirable: Agile delivery experience with tools such as JIRA and Confluence
Desirable: relevant certifications and vendor-specific training
