Job description

We are seeking an experienced AS400 / IBM i Developer with strong WebSphere and EDI expertise to take full operational ownership of a homegrown port and logistics management platform. The proprietary IBM i core has evolved alongside IBM WebSphere to support critical, real-time port operations, including container tracking, terminal yard management, dispatching, and automated B2B data exchange. The ideal candidate will perform code forensics on the custom legacy codebase, map existing WebSphere middleware integration channels, and become the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the platform. Requirements

5+ years of hands-on IBM i / AS400 / iSeries development experience.
Strong proficiency in RPG IV, RPGLE, Free-Format RPG, RPG III, and RPG II.
Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere MQ, Integration Bus/App Connect, B2B Integrator, or Partner Gateway.
Strong experience with CL/CLLE, DB2 for i, SQL/400, and Embedded SQL.
Strong knowledge of ANSI X12 and EDIFACT standards, EDI mapping, translation, and integration.
Experience with AS2, FTP/SFTP, and WebSphere MQ transport protocols.
Proven ability to reverse-engineer complex, undocumented legacy applications.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred: Experience in port operations, container terminals, freight forwarding, warehousing, transportation management systems (TMS), or logistics. Experience with PHP, Python, Node.js, Profound UI, Fresche, or Looksoftware is a plus. Key Traits
