As a DevOps and backend engineer in our agile RTLS team, you will:

• Build and evolve our staging and production AWS/Kubernetes setup, from day-to-day operations to larger migrations and scaling it as product and customer needs grow
• Own deployments, configuration, monitoring, and alerting during working hours, and extend them as new services and requirements come in - this isn’t an on-call role; incident response outside working hours sits with our Customer Support team
• Investigate incidents and improve operational stability, including automating our monitoring and incident handling with AI-assisted triage and fixes
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies and services where they improve reliability, security, or cost
• When capacity allows or when an incident or scaling need points to a fix in the backend: design and implement improvements to our backend services (performance, scalability, security, and logging)
• Depending on your interests, contribute to our frontend where new backend capabilities need a user-facing counterpart
• Mentor colleagues in the team and help spread DevOps and backend knowledge across the team, Our stack combines cloud operations with backend service development. You should be comfortable working with technologies and concepts such as:
• DevOps and operations: AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, GitOps-style workflows, and CI/CD processes
• Reliability: deployments, monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, incident response, and cost-aware scaling
• Backend development: Go, APIs, Protobuf, Redis or comparable caching solutions, MQTT-compatible messaging, and distributed service design
• Technology evolution: introduce new technologies and modernize outdated tools where they improve reliability, scalability, maintainability, or cost efficiency
• Optional frontend: Vue.js, Node.js, or similar technologies

For this opportunity, we are looking for a mid-level or senior engineer with a strong DevOps focus and solid backend development experience:

• 3+ years of experience across DevOps, cloud operations, and backend development
• Hands-on experience operating a Kubernetes cluster in AWS, including Helm charts and GitOps
• Experience running staging and production environments: deployments, monitoring, operational reliability and cost management
• Good understanding of observability, alerting, troubleshooting, caching, messaging, and scalable backend services
• A self-directed working style: you identify what needs improving or changing and drive it forward, rather than waiting for a ticket
• Experience mentoring other engineers and sharing knowledge within a team
• Very good English skills and the ability to collaborate in an international engineering environment
