AI Engineer

Humanscale is seeking a hands-on, business-minded AI Engineer to identify, develop, and implement AI solutions that automate processes, improve efficiency, strengthen decision-making, and support innovation.

Working across business and technical teams, this role will deliver prototypes and production solutions in areas such as document processing, workflow automation, knowledge search, reporting, customer support, and predictive analytics. Responsibilities include training and tuning AI models, coding and testing algorithms, analyzing datasets, developing AI-enabled applications, establishing best practices, and improving data quality and standardization in partnership with IT and Master Data teams.

• Research and document business use cases where AI can positively impact Humanscale’s processes, workflows, and decision-making.
• Meet with stakeholders across departments to understand business challenges, repetitive tasks, and opportunities for automation or AI-assisted workflows.
• Analyze and prioritize AI initiatives based on business value, feasibility, user experience, and efficiency gains.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-driven solutions and proof-of-concepts.
• Build prototypes, internal tools, dashboards, and applications using AI technologies and modern development frameworks.
• Support initiatives involving generative AI, document understanding, intelligent search, workflow automation, virtual assistants, and chatbot experiences.
• Develop solutions using Python, Streamlit, Microsoft Power Platform, Azure AI Services, and related technologies.
• Evaluate and compare AI platforms, tools, and technologies to determine their applicability to business use cases.
• Collaborate with IT, business users, and functional leaders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Analyze data, identify trends, and develop models that support operational improvements and business insights.
• Drive data cleansing, data standardization, and data governance initiatives that improve AI effectiveness.
• Document technical designs, business cases, recommendations, pilot results, and implementation plans.
• Stay informed on emerging AI trends, technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.
• Support responsible AI practices by considering privacy, security, governance, compliance, and ethical considerations in all solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of professional experience in software development, analytics, data engineering, AI, machine learning, or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience working with AI platforms and tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI, or similar technologies.
• 2-3 years of programming experience in Python or other modern programming languages.
• Experience building applications, automations, or integrations using modern development frameworks and technologies.
• Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise business systems such as ERP, CRM, document management, and workflow automation platforms is highly desirable.
• Experience working with databases, datasets, reporting platforms, or analytics solutions.
• Experience with workflow automation tools such as Microsoft Power Automate or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across business and technical teams.

COMPUTER SKILLS

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) to manage daily correspondence, draft documents, and track basic data

Salary Range: $105,541 - $153,943
