Senior Software Engineer, AI Incubation and Rapid Infrastructure Automation

As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. Our mission is to help realize a fully self-driving, AI-first ecosystem to plan, design, build and operate Google’s peta-bit scale WAN and gigawatt (GW) scale Data-Centers. We operate in an AI-first model to build infrastructure and services needed to build Google’s network and machine fleet. We go directly into the heart of our customers and partners, understand their problems and deliver solutions that work for them using Agentic AI.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $174000 - $252000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits, * Write and test product or system development code.

• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Work as an AI-First SWE Engineer, who puts themselves directly in the customers’ environment to understand and solve their issues.
• Use Agentic AI and Spec Driven Development to develop products and solutions with an AI-First mindset.

Experience driving progress, solving problems, and mentoring more junior team members; deeper expertise and applied knowledge within relevant area., * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture., * Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Strong technical competency with a combination of customer-facing experience and strategy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical groups.
