Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL, BASIC AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION. HOWEVER, THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT. THESE FUNCTIONS ARE NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS AN EXHAUSTIVE LIST OF ALL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Platform Administration

  • Administer Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Office apps)
  • Manage users, groups, and licensing via Entra ID (Azure AD)
  • Monitor service health and implement updates
  • Administer and support Microsoft Copilot features across Microsoft 365 services
  • Configure and manage Copilot Studio agents (as applicable)

Governance & Compliance

  • Configure retention policies, labels, and lifecycle standards
  • Manage external sharing and access controls
  • Support eDiscovery, legal holds, and audit readiness
  • Ensure AI usage aligns with data governance, security, and compliance policies
  • Partner with Security and Compliance teams to manage AI-related risks and controls

Security & Access Control

  • Enforce MFA, Conditional Access, and RBAC
  • Implement DLP and sensitivity labeling
  • Support incident response and account security investigations

User Support & Enablement

  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for M365 services
  • Develop user guidance and training materials
  • Support secure collaboration and external sharing use cases

Operations & Continuity

  • Support backup, recovery, and resiliency planning
  • Monitor usage, storage, and license optimization
  • Maintain documentation and operational runbooks

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with IT Security, PMO, and business units Support platform improvements, rollouts, and governance initiatives *

Requirements

  • 4+ years administering Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment
  • Experience with Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive
  • Strong knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD) identity and access management
  • Familiarity with compliance tools (e.g., Purview, DLP, retention)
  • Experience with PowerShell for administration/automation Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. *

PREFERRED REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in regulated environments (insurance, finance, government)
  • Familiarity with Intune / Endpoint Manager and hybrid environments
  • Knowledge of security baselines and audit practices Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102, SC-300, SC-400) *

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot capabilities and governance considerations
  • Understanding of data exposure risks in AI-assisted environments
  • Ability to evaluate and support business use cases for AI-enabled productivity tools
  • Understanding of identity and access management (Entra ID / Azure AD, MFA, Conditional Access, RBAC)
  • Working knowledge of compliance and information governance tools (retention, eDiscovery, DLP, sensitivity labels)
  • Ability to administer, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 collaboration and messaging services
  • Skill in managing users, groups, permissions, and licensing in a cloud environment
  • Experience implementing security controls and secure sharing practices
  • Proficiency with PowerShell for administration, automation, and reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing technical and access-related issues
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to balance security, compliance, and usability in a regulated business environment *

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to sit, hear, converse over the telephone, and key frequently on a computer for long periods of time.
