Data Team Positions

The Role: Serve as the technical lead and project manager for our enterprise database infrastructure. You will architect, optimize, and maintain our Oracle-based Enterprise Data Management System (EDMS), establish data governance standards, and lead technical project workflows across multidisciplinary scientific teams., The Role: Lead front-end application development and UI/UX for scientific data tools. You will design, build, and deploy Progressive Web Applications (PWAs) with client-side caching and automated data synchronization workflows. Your apps will empower field biologists and research ships to capture data seamlessly-even in the most remote corners of the Pacific where internet access is spotty ., The Role: Build the reproducible analytical workflows and data products that turn protected-species monitoring data into usable scientific results. You will develop and automate data analysis pipelines, recurring reports, dashboards, and other tools that support population assessments, monitoring programs, and scientific reporting. Working closely with marine biologists and statisticians, you’ll translate established analytical methods into standardized and reproducible workflows-helping make complex scientific analyses more efficient, transparent, and accessible.

Key Tech: Oracle EDMS, MySQL, SQL/PL-SQL, Python, R, Git/GitHub, Linux/UNIX. Suggested Experience: 5-7 years of professional experience in relational database design/support and scripting, including 1-3 years of project management/technical oversight experience. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, Key Tech: Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), Google AppSheet, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, Python, Oracle APEX, Git/GitHub, SQL. Suggested Experience: 3-5 years of professional programming and relational database application development experience. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, Key Tech: R, Posit, Quarto, Git/GitHub, Shiny, SQL/relational databases, data visualization and automated analytical pipelines. Suggested Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in data science, data analytics, programming, or a related field, including developing reproducible analytical workflows and automated data-processing pipelines for scientific applications. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Quantitative Ecology, Marine Science or related field
