Data Center Facility Manager , Colocation

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast paced technology company and a leader in the world of data centers. The position is responsible for overseeing the operations of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure of multiple facilities within Co-location environments. The Facility Manager assists in maintaining high reliability and performance while keeping operating costs in facilities at a minimum. The supported equipment is mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% up-time. This position will ensure Co-Location SLAs are met through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting in a fast-paced environment and they will need to prioritize complex problems. The Data Center Facility Manager is also responsible to manage, train and support a team of Data Center Building Technicians and vendors in their role of providing hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and operations.

Le titulaire du poste est chargé de superviser l’exploitation des infrastructures électriques et mécaniques de plusieurs bâtiments dans des environnements en colocation. Le gestionnaire de bâtiment aide à maintenir un haut niveau de fiabilité et de performance tout en maintenant les coûts d’exploitation des installations à un minimum. Les équipements supportés sont des serveurs critiques et doivent maintenir un temps de disponibilité supérieur à 99 999 %. Ce poste assurera le respect des ententes sur les niveaux de service des colocalisations grâce à la mise en œuvre de la détection proactive des problèmes et de leur signalement dans un environnement en évolution rapide, en plus de prioriser les problèmes complexes. Le gestionnaire de bâtiment du centre de données est également responsable de la gestion, de la formation et du soutien de l’équipe de techniciens et de sous-traitants en bâtiment dans leur rôle de maintenance, de dépannage et d’exploitation des équipements électriques et mécaniques.

2+ years of people management and team development experience

• 5+ years of engineering work managing large-scale services experience
• Experience in people management and team development

• Experience operating a mission-critical team or product
• High school or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of work in a management position with 5 or more direct reports experience
• 5+ years of work in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units
• Experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports
• Experience working in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation
