Oracle Fusion Cloud PPM / Financials Project Auditor

A Mako client, a large engineering consulting organization, is seeking a senior Oracle Fusion Cloud PPM / Financials Project Auditor to support a post-go-live project stabilization initiative. The organization recently transitioned from a custom ERP environment to Oracle Fusion Cloud and is working through financial and project-management challenges associated with the new system. The primary objective of this engagement is to identify project financial issues, determine what may be driving them, coordinate the appropriate teams, and drive open items through resolution. This is not an Oracle implementation Project Manager role and is not intended to replace the Finance or Project Management teams. The consultant will act as a project financial auditor and facilitator, helping Project Managers, Finance, project coordinators, and Oracle resources identify and resolve issues while improving understanding of the new Oracle environment. The role requires strong Oracle Fusion Cloud PPM and Financials knowledge, a solid understanding of project-based financial management, and the confidence to proactively engage stakeholders and move issues forward. Current Environment & Project The organization recently transitioned from a internally developed ERP platform to Oracle Fusion Cloud. With approximately 8,000 open projects, the company is undertaking a broader stabilization effort to identify financial and operational issues within active projects. A significant portion of the project portfolio may require review, making this a high-visibility initiative focused on improving project financial accuracy and helping Project Managers better understand how their projects are represented within Oracle. The initial effort will begin as a pilot within Florida, with separate support planned for the North and South regions due to differing Finance teams and operational structures. • Analyze project financial information including revenue, billing, margins, costs, labor, forecasts, unbilled activity, and Accounts Receivable
• Identify unusual project conditions and determine potential root causes
• Assist in determining whether issues are related to project setup, financial processes, transactional activity, or user understanding
• Maintain and manage an open-item list of identified project issues
• Track financial and operational issues through resolution
• Facilitate communication between Project Managers, Finance teams, project coordinators, and Oracle/ERP resources
• Ensure the appropriate teams understand identified issues and the actions required to correct them
• Follow up proactively with stakeholders to keep corrective actions moving
• Confirm that identified issues have been properly addressed and reflected within Oracle
• Help Project Managers improve their understanding of project financial information within Oracle Fusion
• Identify recurring patterns or systemic issues across the project portfolio
• Support the broader Oracle post-go-live stabilization initiative
• Provide clear updates on project issues, corrective actions, and outstanding risks to operational leadership
• Work independently and take ownership of assigned project reviews, The ideal candidate is a senior Oracle Fusion Cloud PPM / Financials professional who understands both Oracle and the financial mechanics of project-based organizations. This person should be comfortable reviewing a project in Oracle, recognizing when revenue, billing, margin, cost, or forecasting information does not appear correct, and determining what needs to be investigated further. Just as importantly, the consultant must be able to work across multiple groups to get issues resolved. The hiring manager is looking for someone who is proactive, assertive, organized, and comfortable following up with Project Managers, Finance teams, project coordinators, and ERP resources until open items are closed. The consultant is not expected to personally make every system or financial correction. Instead, this person will identify problems, help determine the likely cause, coordinate the appropriate resources, track corrective actions, and confirm that the issue has been resolved. Candidates whose backgrounds are primarily Oracle implementation Project Management, general accounting with limited Oracle PPM expertise, or purely technical Oracle development would not be the right fit for this position.

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud PPM
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials
• Experience working with Project Costing and Project Billing
• Strong understanding of project-based financial management
• Experience analyzing revenue recognition, project margins, unbilled activity, Billing in Excess, forecasts, labor, costs, and Accounts Receivable
• Ability to review project financial data within Oracle and identify unusual conditions or exceptions
• Experience investigating the root cause of project financial issues
• Ability to distinguish between system, configuration, transactional, and business-process issues
• Strong understanding of the relationship between Project Management, Finance, and ERP systems
• Experience tracking issues and corrective actions through resolution
• Ability to work independently with limited oversight
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Confident, proactive communication style with the ability to hold stakeholders accountable
• Ability to work effectively with Project Managers who may have limited financial or Oracle system expertise

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within engineering consulting, construction, EPC, professional services, consulting, or another project-based organization
• Experience supporting Oracle Fusion environments following a recent go-live
• Background in project financial assurance, project accounting, project controls, or project auditing
• Experience supporting a large portfolio of active projects
• Experience working with regional or decentralized Finance and Project Management teams
• Experience helping Project Managers understand financial performance within Oracle
• Ability to travel periodically to Florida offices as needed
