Software Engineer, Photos Core Data and Server

We’re looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward., * Write product or system development code.

• Contribute to developing new infrastructure and improving existing infrastructure to support Photos core services and product teams.
• Build new APIs, write new business logic, and change our databases to support new features in Google Photos.
• Make infrastructure changes to improve the efficiency and scale of our systems.
• Work heavily with artificial intelligence tools, agents, and systems designed to automate, accelerate, and assist in writing, testing, and deploying code.

Experience driving progress, solving problems, and mentoring more junior team members; deeper expertise and applied knowledge within relevant area., * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture., * Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Coding skills with experience in Java and Backend.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.

Photos is one of the most sought after products at Google and is looking for both client-side (web and mobile), with server-side (search, storage, serving) and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) Software Engineers. We are dedicated to making Google experiences centered around the user.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $147000 - $210000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
