Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of problem-solving ability in a complex environment and be able to communicate effectively, both to the customer and to team members.\n, * Bachelor’s degree with 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or master’s degree with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience. Additional technical experience may be considered in lieu of degree. \n

  • Current Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of consideration.\n
  • Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP) at time of consideration.\n
  • Advanced knowledge of storage systems architecture, lifecycle engineering, and infrastructure modernization principles.\n
  • Demonstrated experience with NetApp, Dell EMC, Hitachi, VMware vSAN and other storage technologies.\n
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise computing environments (physical, virtual, hybrid) and server virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware).\n
  • Working knowledge of virtualization such as VMware vSphere and backup technologies such as NetBackup, Commvault and Veeam.\n
  • Strong knowledge of SANs, Fibre Channel fabric, and storage technologies.\n
  • Deep understanding of DISA STIGs, system hardening, and DoD security compliance frameworks.\n
  • Develop storage standards, architecture documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks.\n
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, virtualization, and storage layers.\n, * Experience supporting large-scale Windows and Linux server environments.\n
  • ITIL 5 Foundation Certification\n
  • Experience with storage migrations using native and third-party tools.\n
  • Knowledge of backup platforms such as Commvault, Veeam, NetBackup, or similar.\n
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible or PowerCLI for automation tasks.\n
  • Experience in regulated, highly available, or mission-critical environments.\n
  • Prior work within the Department of War and familiarity with its IT environments.\n

We are seeking a highly skilled Storage Engineer with demonstrated experience in designing, deploying, and managing enterprise storage environments. \n \n \nCandidate will be responsible for:\n \n \n

  • Lead engineering, administration, and support of enterprise storage environments with primary focus on NetApp and Dell Unity platforms.\n
  • Design and maintain highly available, scalable storage solutions for file, block, and hybrid workloads.\n
  • Perform provisioning, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning of storage systems.\n
  • Manage and optimize storage environments, including aggregates, volumes, SVMs, snapshots, replication, quotas, tiering, and protocol configuration.\n
  • Administer NetApp, Dell EMC, Hitachi storage arrays, including pools, LUNs, file systems, NAS servers, snapshots, replication, FAST VP/tiering, and host connectivity.\n
  • Support SAN and NAS infrastructure, including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB/CIFS protocols.\n
  • Ensure system compliance with DISA STIG and DoD security requirements by leading critical hardening efforts.\n
  • Monitor storage health, capacity, utilization, and performance; identify trends and recommend remediation or expansion strategies.\n
  • Troubleshoot storage, replication, latency, pathing, and connectivity issues across hosts, hypervisors, and network fabrics.\n
  • Plan and execute data migration efforts between legacy and target storage platforms with minimal downtime.\n
  • Implement and support business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities, including snapshot policies, replication, failover, and recovery testing.\n
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior administrators and team members to foster a deeper understanding of storage technologies.\n
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to storage architecture, processes, and procedures.\n
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging storage solutions to continuously optimize system performance and efficiency.\n
  • Support projects to enhance the security, efficiency, or capability of the storage environment.\n
  • Work with vendors and third-party providers for troubleshooting and issue resolution.\n
