Veeva Vault Platform Configuration Specialist

This is a fully remote freelance opportunity focused on hands-on configuration, administration, and maintenance of the Veeva Vault platform. You will design end-to-end Vault solutions across objects, workflows, lifecycles, security models, document structures, and other core platform components. The role operates within a regulated GxP environment, making strong documentation, validation awareness, and audit readiness essential. You will take ownership of functional configuration for at least one major Vault application, such as Clinical, RIM, Quality, Safety, or Medical. The position involves close collaboration with technical leads, business analysts, and functional stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions. You will also support migrations, environment synchronization, configuration comparisons, and release deployments using standard Vault administration tools. Working within an Agile/Scrum model, you will contribute to structured delivery while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and documentation. Accountabilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain core Veeva Vault components, including Objects, Object Types, Lifecycles, Workflows, Page Layouts, Security Profiles, Sharing Rules, Roles, Document Types, and Binders.
• Lead functional configuration and end-to-end delivery for at least one major Vault application, such as Clinical, RIM, QualityDocs/QMS, Safety, or Medical.
• Use the Vault Admin Console, Vault Loader, Configuration Migration Packages, and related tools to manage releases, environment synchronization, configuration migrations, and comparisons.
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical configuration specifications that meet GxP and Computer System Validation standards.
• Ensure configuration changes are properly documented and aligned with audit and compliance requirements.
• Work directly with technical leads, business analysts, and functional stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable Vault configurations.
• Participate actively in Agile and Scrum ceremonies and manage configuration tasks and story-level delivery through Jira-based backlogs.
• Support ongoing platform administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
• Contribute to reliable and compliant delivery across regulated pharmaceutical and life sciences environments.

• 6+ years of total IT experience.
• 4-5+ years of direct, hands-on Veeva Vault configuration experience across one or more Vault applications.
• Proven experience configuring at least one major Veeva Vault application end-to-end, such as Clinical, RIM, Quality, Safety, or Medical.
• Practical experience working in a regulated GxP environment, with a strong understanding of how system configuration changes affect validation and compliance.
• Demonstrable proficiency with the Vault Admin Console, Vault Loader, Configuration Migration Packages, and audit or configuration comparison tools.
• Veeva Vault Platform Administrator Certification is required.
• Hands-on experience delivering solutions using Scrum or Agile methodologies and managing work through Jira.
• Strong understanding of Vault security models, workflows, lifecycles, objects, document structures, and related configuration components.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical leads, business stakeholders, analysts, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong documentation skills with a focus on accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness.
