Job description
We’re currently recruiting on behalf of a global manufacturer who would like to recruit an experienced SAP Administrator to join their procurement team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the efficient supply of components and materials required to support a busy manufacturing operation. Working closely with suppliers across the UK and overseas, you will take ownership of a portfolio of products and vendors, managing everything from purchasing and planning through to expediting, supplier performance, logistics and inventory management., * Maintain and update SAP MM purchasing data, including source lists, info records, and material master settings.
- Manage supplier relationships, performance, delivery schedules, and costs.
- Expedite orders and proactively resolve shortages impacting production and aftersales operations.
- Coordinate import shipments via sea, air and courier networks.
- Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues alongside internal quality teams.
- Monitor supplier lead times and drive improvements in on-time delivery performance.
- Assist with reporting activities including supplier KPI performance, contract management and cost-saving initiatives.
- Identify risks within the supply chain and implement actions to maintain continuity of supply.
- Support colleagues within the Purchasing team as required.
Requirements
Are you an experienced Administrator with experience working in a Buying or Planning team within a manufacturing environment? Do you have strong SAP MM knowledge and experience managing supplier relationships, inventory, and production planning?, * Working knowledge of SAP MM.
- Experience in a manufacturing purchasing, buying, or planning role.
- Proven experience purchasing mechanical components within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of planning, scheduling, inventory control and expediting.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating costs.
- Knowledge of shipping, imports, and international logistics processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to supply chain management.
