Data & Information Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Data & Information Technical Manager to join DN Colleges Group. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced data professional to lead the development, management and optimisation of business-critical data and information assets that support both operational excellence and strategic decision-making across the organisation.

Working within the Business Systems & Information team, you will provide specialist expertise in data management, reporting, data visualisation and data warehousing technologies. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to develop innovative, secure and scalable solutions that deliver meaningful business insights while ensuring the integrity, availability and security of data assets.

This role is ideal for a technically proficient leader who is passionate about leveraging data to improve services, drive efficiencies and support organisational success.This is a Group role and you will be expected to travel between Doncaster college and Scunthorpe college

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, implementation and support of data and information assets across the Group.

• Develop ad-hoc, scheduled and self-service reporting solutions and interactive data visualisations.

• Provide subject matter expertise in Power BI, SQL, data warehousing and database technologies.

• Monitor, maintain and optimise data performance, resilience and availability.

• Support data security, governance, GDPR compliance and data integrity initiatives.

• Develop and maintain business continuity, backup and disaster recovery plans for data and information assets.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.

• Work with third-party suppliers and technology partners to support product development and service improvement.

• Identify opportunities for innovation, cloud adoption and emerging technologies including AI, Machine Learning and Robotic Process Automation.

• Lead, coach and develop technical team members, ensuring high standards of service delivery and professional practice., * In DN Colleges we call this role Data & Information Technical Manager but you might know this as Data Manager, Business Intelligence Manager, Data Warehouse Manager, BI & Reporting Manager or Data & Analytics Manager.

• The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

• The role involves working closely with technical teams, senior stakeholders and external suppliers across the organisation.

• Employees are expected to work flexibly to support operational requirements and key organisational events.

• We are not looking for agency support for this role.

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience, alongside formal systems accreditation from a recognised provider. * Proven experience as a Data & Information Manager, Technical Manager or Subject Matter Expert within a complex technical environment. * Strong expertise in SQL, relational database management systems, data warehousing technologies and Power BI. * Experience of database architecture, performance optimisation, business continuity planning and data governance. * Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

• 35.5 hours per week, full-time permanent position.

• 30 days annual leave plus 8 public holidays and two weeks at Christmas.
