DevOps Engineer

• Build and automate on-premise infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools, primarily Terraform, with an increasing focus on container platforms and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Develop automation across containerised and on-premise environments using Ansible, Python and supporting tooling.
• Work closely with Development and Infrastructure teams to introduce new technologies and workflows into production.
• Develop your knowledge of container-native and GitOps deployment patterns.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and have a genuine voice in technical decisions.
• Support internal teams with CI/CD pipelines, build systems and developer tooling.
• Work with Linux systems at scale, including deployment, configuration management and systems operations across containerised and virtualised environments.
• Contribute to capacity planning and help ensure container platforms remain scalable across Development, QA, Test and Production environments.
• Create and maintain clear, useful technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and operational issues while developing a deep understanding of the wider technology estate., This role offers significant scope for technical development. You’ll have the opportunity to build expertise in:
• Kubernetes and OpenShift across complex on-premise environments.
• GitOps workflows and container-native deployment pipelines, including ArgoCD and Helm.
• Infrastructure design patterns and configuration management at scale.
• A broader technology stack including QuestDB, Elasticsearch and MySQL.
• The infrastructure and technology supporting low-latency trading environments.
• The operational and technical requirements of modern financial market infrastructure.

You’ll join a small, highly skilled DevOps team and be hands-on from day one. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, take ownership of meaningful projects and contribute to the evolution of a sophisticated on-premise and containerised infrastructure environment.

This role will suit someone who is naturally curious about technology - someone who enjoys automation, likes understanding how systems work, and takes satisfaction in building infrastructure that is reliable, scalable and well engineered., * A strong foundation in Linux systems administration, ideally Red Hat/CentOS or a similar environment.

• Confidence working from the command line and a good understanding of how systems and infrastructure fit together.
• Experience or a strong interest in scripting and automation, particularly Bash and Python.
• Exposure to Ansible and/or Terraform.
• Familiarity with Git and fundamental CI/CD concepts; experience with GitLab would be advantageous.
• A working understanding of core networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, load balancing and firewalls.
• Some experience with containers, particularly Docker.
• Exposure to Kubernetes or OpenShift would be highly beneficial, but isn’t essential.
• Clear, pragmatic written and verbal communication skills.
• A genuine interest in technology and a desire to keep learning.
