Principal Security Engineer *

To strengthen our IT-Security Team at the Hamburg headquarters, we are looking for you as a full-time (40 hours) Principal Security Engineer (f/m/d) with immediate effect. As Principal Security Engineer (f/m/d)*, you will combine hands-on engineering with architecture, mentoring and cross-team delivery and thus help secure the digital services behind Engel & Völkers business. Tasks that let you grow

• As a Principal Security Engineer (f/m/d)* you will ensure our technical security across standard and AI-enabled applications, AI / LLM integrations, cloud infrastructure and corporate IT by assessing attack surfaces, configurations and security controls; identifying vulnerabilities and steer remediation.
• Take ownership of E&V’s security architecture and roadmap while identifying relevant attack vectors, evaluating the effectiveness of existing controls and collaborating with responsible teams to address identified material gaps.
• Assess the security of existing GCP and Kubernetes workloads, identities, networks and secrets, followed by detecting possible configuration flaws, excessive permissions and attack paths.
• Embed threat modelling, security reviews and automated checks into product development and CI/CD pipelines.
• Enhance SIEM/SOAR detection quality and automation, serving as the technical escalation point for the external SOC to refine telemetry and handle complex incidents.
• Drive holistic vulnerability management by prioritizing risks, based on exposure and impact, coordinating penetration tests, and steering remediation.

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, vocational IT training, or equivalent educational background.
• Extensive work experience in the field of security engineering, working with complex security risks and trade-offs, leading complex technical initiatives and guiding cross-team decisions.
• Deep expertise in production cloud and Kubernetes security as well as hands-on scripting skills to automate controls via Git, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong background in security monitoring, incident response and vulnerability management, using an evidence-driven approach to regularly audit tool coverage and control effectiveness.
• Practical experience in application security, threat modeling and secure development, backed by sound identity, endpoint and network fundamentals.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English; German is a plus.
