Mainframe Developer Intermediate

• COBOL & CICS: Must have strong hands-on development experience in both COBOL and CICS - no exceptions.
• Recent COBOL Experience: Must have coded COBOL programs within the last 12 months.
• Mainframe: Hands-on experience with IBM Mainframe / z/OS environment.
• JCL: Experience writing and maintaining Job Control Language (JCL) and working with job scheduling.

• DB2 / SQL: Strong experience with DB2, including:

• SQL queries
• Accessing DB2 from COBOL programs
• Creating DB2 tables
• Query development using QMF
• TSO: Experience working in TSO on the mainframe.
• XPEDITER: Experience with XPEDITER for debugging/testing.
• SDLC: Experience across the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, troubleshooting, implementation, and support.
• Legacy Application Support: Experience maintaining and enhancing legacy applications, with minor new development.
• Troubleshooting: Strong ability to analyze application issues, troubleshoot production/existing systems, and determine appropriate solutions.
• Development: Ability to perform front-end, middle-tier, and back-end development as required.
• Source Control: Experience using Visual Studio for source control.

Education / Overall Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a technical degree in Computer Science.
• Equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of development experience may be considered.
• Strong understanding of business requirements and ability to translate them into technical solutions.

Agile / Team Environment

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a software development team.
• Experience participating in requirements gathering, design, architecture, development, testing, and implementation.
• 2+ years of Agile development experience is preferred.
