Software Engineer - Full-stack Storage Developer

This SWE3 position is designed for a fullstack developer with the required skill set below. You’ll join a fast-paced, integrated team leading Storage efforts in support of an enterprise infrastructure organization.

The ideal candidate brings extensive background or familiarity with Git, cluster administration, cloud storage services, backup solutions, and data retention across both Windows and Linux environments - and the willingness to wear the hat that the day calls for.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate fullstack solutions in support of enterprise storage platforms.
• Administer and tune Kubernetes clusters (including RKE2 and Rancher) supporting storage workloads.
• Containerize services with Docker and operate them in production.
• Manage load balancers and the underlying networking that storage services depend on.
• Automate infrastructure and configuration with Ansible and Puppet.
• Operate and harden CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
• Integrate with PKI for authenticated and encrypted service-to-service communication.
• Build supporting services and tooling in Python and Java.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate operational requirements into deployable engineering work.

• 20+ years of Software Engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, OR
• 4+ additional years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, * Git and GitLab CI/CD.
• Strong Linux administration and DevOps experience.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience.
• Docker, Rancher, RKE2.
• Load balancer configuration and operation.
• Systems administration and broad DevOps tool fluency.
• Ansible and Puppet for configuration management.
• PKI fundamentals.
• Production-grade development experience in Python and Java.
• Familiarity with StE/StN engineering practices.

• AWS familiarity.
• Splunk experience.
• Apache big data tooling (Hadoop, Spark).
• Storage platform experience (NetApp ONTAP, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, Hitachi).
• Cluster administration at scale.
• Backup and data retention tooling (Veeam, Commvault, Veritas).

Salary is determined by multiple factors, including location, education, experience, skills, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 (annualized USD).
