Job description

The Staff Enterprise Data Architect develops standards, tools, and governance for capturing, modeling, storing, and delivering data for the enterprise, including:

Identifying data-related business requirements and service standards (e.g., transaction processing speed, data mining and reporting capabilities, data security, scalability, etc.).

Developing a high-level enterprise data model and conceptual views of related data sub-architectures (e.g., database, data integration, data warehouse/business intelligence, reporting, metadata, and content management architectures).

Optimizing overall data/information flow by reducing redundancy and enabling accessibility within security boundaries. Staff Architects in Enterprise Data Architecture oversee one or more Data Engineering Disciplines.

  • Interpret enterprise data architecture, governance standards, and platform direction (BigQuery, Palantir Foundry, Workday/SAP ecosystem) and translate them into a concrete data strategy and roadmap for HR & Payroll.
  • Design and guide data models, pipelines, and integration patterns connecting HCM/Payroll systems to the enterprise data lake/warehouse.
  • Stay hands-on with SQL, data modeling, and pipeline/ETL work- able to dig into complex data problems alongside the team, not just review their output.
  • Serve as the domain’s data quality and governance owner: data lineage, validation, metadata/cataloging (e.g., Collibra), and compliance with data privacy requirements for HR data.
  • Manage, coach, and grow a data team based in India: day-to-day leadership, performance management, career development, and acting as the trusted on-the-ground manager for a remote-from-HQ team.
  • Partner with HR/Payroll business stakeholders to turn ambiguous business questions into data requirements and analytics-ready solutions.
  • Act as a bridge between enterprise architecture/IT leadership and the HR/Payroll domain- representing domain needs upward, and enterprise standards downward.
