Software Engineer

• We carry out analysis of software requirements according to product definition and customer needs, working with product development and production teams.
• We ensure timely generation of system specifications, including design, system interfaces, and product definition.
• We design and develop software code to meet specified requirements using the most appropriate software language(s).
• We prepare module descriptions, test plans, procedures, and other software documentation, and verify that the software product meets specified requirements.
• We prepare design review documentation and distribute it to company personnel for discussion.
• We liaise with end users, contractors, and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with system requirements.
• We support field installations on site around the world as required.
• We participate in investigations into system problems from design, coding, and testing through to acceptance and ongoing use of the products.
• We propose, define, and implement solutions to problems, including bug-fixing and system modification or enhancement, to help prevent recurrence.

• We are looking for someone educated to HND or degree level, preferably in Computer Science or Mathematics.
• We require a solid background in software development of at least 5 years.
• We need proficiency in VB.Net within an engineering environment.
• We value experience in, or an interest in, machine or motion control software and hardware interaction.
• We are looking for someone capable of clear thinking and informed decision-making to support complex automation systems and machine tool products within cost, quality, and timescale constraints.
• We need a self-motivated and disciplined person with strong technical awareness.
• We require the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and coordinate in-house resources during design, build, and test phases.

We are offering a salary of £35,000 to £55,000, along with excellent on-the-job training, pension, and opportunities to grow and develop within the organisation.
