Azure Systems Engineer

A leading Microsoft Services client is seeking an experienced Azure Platform & Systems Engineer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension.The role will combine Azure platform engineering, DevOps automation, application infrastructure support and technical delivery, with responsibility for building and operating secure, reliable and scalable environments, improving deployment practices, supporting integrations and ensuring business-critical platforms remain observable and resilient.Start: ASAPLocation: London - hybrid in Central LondonDuration: 6 months initially, with potential for extensionEngagement: ContractThe successful consultant will be responsible for:Designing, deploying and supporting secure and scalable Azure environmentsDeveloping and improving CI/CD pipelines and deployment automationSupporting application infrastructure, integrations and production environmentsImplementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation

solutionsSupporting identity, access management, security and governance across AzureImproving platform monitoring, observability, resilience and performanceSupporting SQL Server and Azure SQL environments, including access, backups and troubleshootingContributing to vulnerability management, incident response and operational securityStrong experience across the Microsoft Azure platform, including compute, networking, storage, identity, monitoring, security and governanceStrong Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Enterprise experience, including repositories, pipelines, releases and deployment automationHands-on experience with Bicep, ARM Templates and/or TerraformStrong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and Azure CLIExperience with Microsoft Entra ID, IAM, RBAC and privileged accessUnderstanding of secure application delivery, configuration and secrets managementExperience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights or equivalent observability toolingKnowledge of SQL Server / Azure SQL, including access management, backups and troubleshootingStrong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls and private/hybrid connectivityExperience across Microsoft 365, Intune and endpoint managementUnderstanding of vulnerability management, threat alerts and incident responseThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Azure DevOps Consultant to join a leading Microsoft Services environment and contribute to the delivery and ongoing improvement of critical cloud platforms.Required Skillsazure devops infrastructure as code ci/cd cloud security sql server #J-18808-Ljbffr
