This Software Engineer role is based in Gloucester, Manchester or Leeds with hybrid working offered, and we welcome both full-time and part-time applicants. You will join our Capabilities team, a large part of Digital Intelligence focused on engineering, consulting and project management for defence and digital transformation work. • We want experience in one or more of the following: JavaScript, Java, .Net or Python.
• We want experience collaboratively designing and building proof of concept or production systems.
• We want experience using version control systems such as Git, Mercurial or Perforce.
• We want experience with CI/CD tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, TeamCity or Bitbucket to streamline delivery.
• We want experience with automated testing frameworks.
• We want experience using static code analysis tools such as SonarQube to improve code consistency and quality.
• We want experience working in an agile environment such as Scrum, Lean or Kanban.
• We want knowledge of common software design patterns.
• We want creativity and a problem-solving mindset to help us solve client challenges.
• It would be an advantage to have experience with machine learning software such as Amazon and Azure machine learning or TensorFlow.
• It would be an advantage to have experience deploying and managing cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• It would be an advantage to have experience with containerisation tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• It would be an advantage to have experience with relational, document or graph database systems.
• It would be an advantage to have experience with software configuration and deployment tools such as Ansible.
• We require candidates to hold an active eDV before applying.
• All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard.
• Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting and typically 5 to 10 years of continuous UK residency depending on the vetting level.
