IT Configuration and Asset Manager

We have an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced IT Asset and Configuration Manager working within a complex IT environment. You will have a full remit including overseeing hardware assets, improving the accuracy of the asset register and CMDB, and ensuring the information is useful to the teams delivering IT services., * Manage and improve the day-to-day asset and configuration management processes.

• Oversee hardware from purchase and deployment through return, replacement and disposal.
• Keep asset and configuration records accurate, including ownership, current status and links to IT services.
• Compare records in HaloITSM with information held in device management, purchasing, inventory, and supplier systems, and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Put clear controls in place to maintain data and support its use in incident, problem, and change management.
• Work with suppliers on asset disposal and assurance, and contribute to refresh planning and cost control.
• Produce reporting, practical guidance and a prioritised plan for improvement.

• Proven experience managing IT assets and configuration data in a complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of hardware asset management, CMDB controls and data quality.
• Hands-on experience improving asset records and reconciling data between systems.
• Good understanding of ITIL and IT service management processes.
• The ability to work effectively with technical teams and suppliers and drive issues through to resolution.

Experience with HaloITSM would be useful but is not essential.
